The Mayday Reef Rocket is our flagship topwater lure, and it earned that title the hard way. Years of research, testing and refinement went into getting it right.

The result is a shallow-cupped popper that's exceptionally easy to fish. The shallow cup cuts drag, so the lure moves freely and responds instantly to every sweep of the rod.

A small protrusion on the chin works like the hull of a boat – channelling water sideways to create maximum spray on a medium sweeping action. Fish it hard and fast and it tracks cleanly, holds its line, and dives just enough to produce a distinctive suction sound. That sound triggers strikes.

When trolled for big tuna and billfish, the Reef Rocket tracks true behind the boat without spinning. It carries a slight wiggle, surfaces every few seconds, and leaves a formidable bubble trail in its wake.
